Basic Coffee Crashcourse

Drip Coffee- Standard American coffee, similar to what is served in any diner, restaurant, cafe, or home coffee makers

Espresso- More concentrated form of coffee brewing, using high pressure and finely ground coffee to deliver a more full flavor profile of the beans. Each shot packs a punch, but serving size is small (typically 1 oz a shot!)

Americano- In WWII, American troops served espresso would water it down for a beverage similar to drip coffee

Latte- The golden standard of the espresso industry, steamed milk and espresso are combined for a delightful drink

Mocha- Chocolate latte. That’s it.

Cappuccino- Frothy latte.

Flat White- No froth latte

Cortado- Latte with less milk

Macchiato- Espresso “marked” with milk foam

Starbucks Macchiato- Steamed milk “marked” with espresso

Chai Latte- Latte made with a black tea and spice combo

London Fog- Latte made with Earl Grey and a touch of vanilla
